Company Profile

Shriram Properties is one of the leading residential real estate development companies in South India, primarily focused on the mid-market and affordable housing categories. It is among the top five residential real estate companies in South India in terms of number of units launched between the calendar years 2012 and the third quarter of 2021 across Tier 1 cities of South India including Bengaluru, Chennai and Hyderabad. It also present in the mid-market premium and luxury housing categories as well as commercial and office space categories in its core markets.

The company is part of the Shriram Group, which is a prominent business group with four decades of operating history in India and a well-recognized brand in the retail financial services sector and several other industries. Its relationship with the Shriram Group provides it with strong brand recall and that it benefit, and will continue to benefit, from the trust and confidence that homebuyers, lenders, financial investors, landowners, development partners, contractors and other stakeholders place in the Shriram brand and its operational history. The company commenced operations in Bengaluru in the year 2000 and has since expanded its presence to other cities in South India, i.e., Chennai, Coimbatore and Visakhapatnam. In addition, it also has presence in Kolkata in East India, where it is developing a large mixed-use project. Bengaluru and Chennai are two key markets for it.

  • 2006: Investment by Sun Apollo Investment Holdings LLC of approximately ?800 million in Shriram Properties and Infrastructure Private Limited.
  • 2007: Investment by WSI/WSQI of Rs 2,100 million in the Company.
  • 2007: Investment by Hypo Real Estate Bank International AG of Rs 5,590 million for a SEZ project in Chennai.
  • 2011: Investment by WSI/WSQI and TPG Asia of Rs 2,431.50 million and Rs 3,250 million, respectively in the company.
  • 2012: Investment by Ask Real Estate Special Opportunities Fund of Rs 839 million in Shrivision Homes for real estate projects in Bengaluru.
  • 2014: Acquisition by India Realty Excellence Fund II LLP from Garden City Realty 49% of the share capital of Shrivision Towers and investment of approximately Rs 665 million in Shrivision Towers.
  • 2014: Investment by Amplus Capital Advisors Private Limited of ?130 million in real estate projects in Bengaluru.
  • 2017: Acquisition by Horus Holdings from Company of Shriram Properties and Infrastructure Private Limited which holds a project land located in a SEZ in Chennai for Rs 3,712.72 million.
  • 2018: Purchase of compulsorily convertible debenture of Shriprop Properties by Mitsubishi Corporation through its subsidiary, DRI India Company Limited for a consideration of Rs 1,785 million.
  • 2018: Signing of a non-binding memorandum of understanding with ASK Property Investment Advisors Private Limited for funding commitment of ?8,000 million in residential real estate projects in Bengaluru and Chennai.
  • 2019: Entered the plotted development segment under the name of “Shriram Earth.” The first project under the series was launched in April, 2019 located off Mysore Road, Bengaluru. This project is spread over an area of 20 acres and contains 381 plots.
  • 2019: Entered into a debenture trustee agreement with Kotak India Affordable Housing Fund - 1 for investment of Rs 400 million for the development of Shriram Grand Two, an affordable housing project in Kolkata with approximately 2 million square feet of saleable area.
