Company Profile

Somi Conveyor Beltings Limited (SCBL) was incorporated on June 16, 2000 as Omi Conveyor Beltings Limited under the Companies Act, 1956, with the Registrar of Companies, Rajasthan at Jaipur and subsequently, the name of the company was changed to Somi Conveyor Beltings Limited with effect from October 31, 2000. Om Prakash Bhansali, Vimal Bhansali and Gaurav Bhansali are the promoters of the company.

The company started its commercial production from February 2002. Initially, the company began with a manufacturing capacity of 72,000 meters per annum (MPA) of rubber conveyor beltings. The company initiated a capacity expansion in 2004. At present SCBL can manufacture belts up to 1200-mm width.

Somi Conveyor Belting is a widely acclaimed manufacturers, exporters and suppliers of conveyor belts in India. It has been in the operation for the past three decades and has accomplished many heights that others can just dream of.

Somi Conveyor Beltings is a manufacturer and exporter of rubber conveyor belt of all grades for material handling. Conveyor belts are used in a wide variety of material transport applications such as manufacturing, food processing, and heavy industries. Belt construction and belt materials are often application-specific. Materials  are often application-specific.

Inspired by overwhelming response from its valued customers, the company completed its first expansion in the year 2003 increasing its production capacity from 72000 square meters to 2 Lakh square meters per annum. As company’s clientele base is ever expanding and demand for larger widths ranging up to 2000 mm is mounting, it has become inevitable necessity to go for yet second expansion. The company has completed all necessary ground work and is now totally poised and geared up to accomplish its second expansion without any possible delay.

Somi Conveyor Belting Ltd is equipped with the latest and modern belting plant known for the manufacture of highly fuel efficient, longer life conveyor beltings and elevator beltings products. The plant embeded with high degree of 'Aramid technology', which has 20% weight of NN/EP reinforcement fabric that can minimize power consumption. Somi Conveyor Belting Ltd, strives to deliver products that set new heights in the field of conveyor and elevator belts products. It follows stringent quality policy to ensure that the products measure up to the internationnal standards in terms of technology and production.

SOMI Conveyor Beltings has always risen to the occasion by supplying conveyor beltings of exceptional quality while at the same time developing its own trade mark brands which are far superior and more durable than traditional conveyor belts in use.

The company has a very long list of satisfied customers, notable among them are ACC, Aditya   Birla Group of Companies, L&T, Essar Steel, TATAs, Ambuja Group etc. in private sector favoring the company with their repeat orders. Recently, Somi Conveyor Beltings bagged an order of about Rs. 1 Crore for 4800 meters belt length from M/s APGENCO, a prestigious Power Project of Andhra Pradesh. Entire lot of belts has been supplied well in advance and in a single lot.

Milestones:

  • 2000 -Incorporation of the company
  • 2001 -Factory Unit at 463-466, H2, Sangaria Industrial Area, Jodhpur commenced trial production in November, 2001 and commercial production in February 2002.
  • 2003 -The company launched SOMIFLEX special utility belts “SEHR-36” and “TIGER-M-27” which can resist high temperatures up to 250 Celsius and high abrasion.
  • 2004 -The company increased its production capacity by 100% by installing new production line in the existing unit.
  • 2004 -ISO 9001:2000 Certification issued to the company in relation to “Quality Management System”.
  • 2005 -Supply of rubber conveyor belts to the Andhra Pradesh Power Corporation Limited, a Government of Andhra Pradesh undertaking.
  • 2006 -Supply of rubber conveyor belts to the Karnataka Power Corporation Limited, a Government of Karnataka undertaking.
  • 2007 - Secured an order worth Rs.3.08 Crores from Andhra Pradesh Power Generation Corporation Limited, a Government of Andhra Pradesh undertaking.
