Company Profile

Shree Steel Wire Ropes established in 1972 is today a BLUE CHIP Company and a leader in Steel Wire Ropes. Operating from its modern sophisticated state-of-the-art plant at Khopoli. Shree believes quality is not an incidental phenomena but the outcome of untinted cohesive team work. This is why their technocrats are always one step ahead.

The company is a dominating name in the field of Steel Wire Ropes since 1972 having its modern sophisticated plant at Khopoli near Mumbai.

The company is keeping pace with the modern latest technology. This is one of the main reason for their winning continuously Export Excellency Award from Govt. of India for the fourth consecutive year since 1992-93 till date.

The company produces wire ropes to all international standards including BS/DIN/GOST/API/FEDERAL. They have the 'Total Technology for any type of wire rope'.

Shree is also a major source of indigenous development of various import substitution items. 'SHREE' Wire ropes are approved by internationally acclaimed inspection agencies like Lloyd's, American Bureau of Shipping, Bureau Veritas, SGS India Ltd., etc., on several occasions. 'SHREE' is playing a key role and one of the major supplier to Railways, Port Trusts, ONGC, Oil India, Defense, Steel Plants, Dept. of Atomic Energy, CoalFields and other major projects.

Shree Wire Ropes are in extensive use in general Engineering, Shipping, Fishing, Mining, Oil Well Exploration, Construction, Aerial Application, Deep Sea Exploration and so on. Shree Steel Wire Ropes has recently introduced a new fully equipped modern foundry division. This area produces specially the following items:

  • Non-ferrous castings
  • Aluminium Alloys.
  • Aluminium Bronze
  • Brass

Shree Steel Wire Ropes can produce the various engineering components and parts from 50 grams to 10 kg per piece as per the customer’s drawings and specifications with International standards.

The company’s current production is over 1000 kg per day and its promised to improve the poduction atleast twice in the coming year.

Product range of the company includes:

  • Wire ropes A wire rope is made up of a number of strands laid helically about a metallic or non metallic core. Each strand consists of a number of wires also laid helically about a metallic or non metallic centre. For manufacturing rope wire the following materials are used such as Iron, Traction Steel, Plough Steel/Improved Plough Steel. Iron wire rope is largely used for low strengths, Plough and Improved Plough Steels are used for higher strengths. Ropes made of galvanized wire or wire coated with zinc by the electro deposition process are used in certain applications where additional protection against rusting is required.
